Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion gave several 90’s kids a major dose of nostalgia, by recreating an iconic diva moment from the era.
The duo, who have recently collaborated on the banger – ‘Sweetest Pie’, made their presence felt at the 2022 Grammy awards as they stepped-up on stage to give an award in the ‘Best New Artist’ category.
And before presenting the award, the two recreated a skit which was famously done by iconic divas – Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey back in 1998.
It was at the MTV VMAs, when Houston and Carey came face to face wearing similar ensembles as part of a skit, to present an award. The two then exchanged some comments about the similarities of their outfits, before ripping off the respective bottoms of their dresses to reveal a different, sexier look.
Needless to say, the scene has become even more iconic in this age of YouTube – and Megan and Dua, went there.
Wearing outfits designed for them by Donatella Versace, the two stepped right before the microphone as Megan proceeded to say:
“You stole my look!”, to which Dua responds with:
“Well I was told I had the exclusive. I’m going to have a talk with Donatella.”
Just as her name is uttered, the famous fashion icon appears on-stage and sorts out their “problem” by ripping off the bottom of the dress.

Nothing beats the charm of the OG divas, but props to these children for honoring the MOTHAS.
