“I’m So Sorry for Hurting You”: Lee Daniels Apologizes to Mo’Nique Live on Stage, Ending 13-Year Feud

It was more than 13 years ago when Lee Daniels and Mo’Nique collaborated together, for the multiple-award-winning critically lauded film, ‘Precious’.

The film featured the highest career-point for Mo’Nique’s, for which she won several accolades and it eventually made her an Oscar-winner, as she took home the prestigious trophy in the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ category.

While that was supposed to open several doors for the talented actress and comedienne, it was not to be.

Mo’Nique’s feud with Daniels and the producers of the film, namely – Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey, went on for several years, as she accused them of ‘blackballing’ her after she refused to participate in the film’s promotional events.

That whole thing started 13 years ago and continued to escalate through the roof over the years. But it seems to be finally coming to an end now.

For Mo’Nique and Lee Daniels are set to work together in an upcoming new venture for Netflix, and before it all begins, the filmmaker has already issued a public apology to the actress, live on stage.

Appearing at a festival in Staten Island, Daniels was heard directly addressing Mo’Nique:

“It took me a long time to realize. I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did. Y’all, she was my best friend. ‘Precious’ was God working through both of us and we gonna f*cking do it again!”

We only wish it happened sooner…

But good to see, finally amends are being made!
