Janet Jackson Releases Deluxe Edition Of Her 1997 Album ‘The Velvet Rope’: With NEW Songs!

It has been 25 years since Janet Jackson’s chart-topping sixth studio album, The Velvet Rope.

This 1997 released album became one of her most critically acclaimed project, sprouting as a result of her troubled personal experiences, and tackling several adult issues, cementing her iconic status.



The album was also a landmark moment in 90’s LGBTQ scene in popular music, as Jackson tackled issues like homophobia and spoke of sexual orientations, which eventually also garnered her GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Music.

The Grammy winning multi-platinum effort is now being celebrated again on it’s 25th anniversary.

Jackson has released ‘The Velvet Rope: Deluxe Edition’ on the exact 25th year anniversary date of the album – featuring some additional tracks along with the classic track-list.
