Ever since the gossip around the possible sequel of the Sister Act series has started, rumours are rife about who’s to be featured in the retelling of the classic tale, from the current generation.
The first two parts of the film, which were released in 1992 and 1993 respectively, have garnered a cult status over the years and serve as one of the most popular films in actress Whoopi Goldber’s career.
Whoopi herself, in a recent interview for Charlamagne Tha God’s Comedy Central show Hell of a Week, has revealed her interesting ideas about who she thinks should feature in the series revival.
Speaking on the show, Whoopi name-dropped stars like Keke Palmer, Lizzo and Nicki Minaj in her wishlist.
She said:
“I’m going to ask for Keke Palmer to come in. I want everybody to come in. I want Lizzo come in. I want everybody. I want the girl with the chest, what’s her name?… Nicki Minaj! I want Nicki to come. I want everybody. I want as many people who want to have some fun, because I really, desperately need to have some fun.”
Interesting.
Sister Act 3: Kicking the Habit is in pre-productions stage right now and has already roped in Jenifer Lewis, Keke Palmer (yes! it happened), along with Whoopi, into the mix.
God bless y’all for this manifestation over my life. @WaltDisneyCo, this is what they asked for I’m just here to relay. pic.twitter.com/rTSsk1hVOG
