Dolly Parton’s Jolene is one of her most loved classics, that have been covered by generations of singers over the years.
The delicious tune from the 70’s is one of the most iconic songs written by the celebrated songstress, so it was not surprising when RnB superstar Beyonce gave it her own spin recently as she released her first-ever Country album, ‘Cowboy Carter’ in March 2024.
Spinning the overall tone of the song, Beyonce did add her own fierceness into the lyric as well as her vocal delivery, by altering a few verses.
That is quite unlike another popular recent version covered by fellow singer – Miley Cyrus, who also got a nod from Parton for her cover of the song.
The two versions are easily two of the most popular covers of the classic that have been churned out in the recent times.
