Christina Aguilera’s career-first chart topper, ‘Genie In A Bottle’ turned 20, earlier this week, and the Grammy winning songstress went kind of nostalgic about it.
Celebrating 2 decades of the timeless tune, which was released back in the year 1999, from her self-titled debut album, Aguilera took to her Instagram handle and expressed her ’emotions’.
“Hi lovies! Today marks 20 years since #GenieInABottle was released… got me feeling all types of emotional!” the 38 year old singer-songwriter wrote. “At just 18 years old, I remember coming home from Japan and seeing that it had reached #1 on the Billboard charts and feeling so grateful and happy that you guys loved it as much as I did. Thank you thank you thank you for riding with me all these years. My fighters, I love you! 💋💋💋 #xxtina.”
Genie In A Bottle was Aguilera’s first multi-platinum selling track, from an early point in her career, that also provided her global stardom by peaking atop the record charts of 21 countries, including the United States’ Billboard Hot 100 charts.
