Whitney Houston’s The Preacher’s Wife Coming to Broadway as a Musical, Feat Titus Burgess

Nearly 23 years after its release, Penny Marshall’s The Preacher’s Wife is going to get the Broadway treatment.

Singer and performer, Titus Burgess is preparing a musical version of the 1996 released holiday favorite, which starred Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington in lead roles.

Burgess made the revelation during his recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, speaking about how he’s been working hard to turn the inspiring flick into a musical.

It isn’t clear whether he’ll continue using some of the original tracks, sang and made popular by the timeless Whitney Houston, but it would be interesting to see how this is woven together.

The Preacher’s Wife is largely remembered for its music, mostly sung by Houston – turning it into the bestselling gospel album of all time.
