Cardi B had some words of praise for herself during her Twitter interaction with fans.
Citing herself as someone who brought new opportunities to female rappers, Cardi went on to describe her impact in the Hip-Hop scene, in a series of lengthy tweets.
Here’s all that she had to say on the subject:
“I didn’t say I pave[sic] the way for remale rapper but I deff gave the hood and women hope. N*kkas wasn’t collabing with female rappers. Labels where signing female rapper and putting them in a shelf and not focusing on them. Not giving them proper attention.”
She further added:
“It seem like it was impossible for it to be more then one female rapper. These male rappers where not even takin Money from female rappers for a feature cause it seem far fetch for another woman to make it. I see so many male artists collabing wit females now even ..”
Speaking on how a diverse group of female rappers, besides a ‘select few’, weren’t getting enough opportunities before, Cardi further stated:
“And ya can deny it as much as ya want and say I’m crazy or stfuu but how many female rappers before me where getting chances or getting pushed ? They wasn’t believing and now they are!”
While this obviously started a war on Twitter, with half of the people disagreeing with her claims, Cardi still stuck to what she said.
