Mo’Nique Sues Netflix for Racial, Gender Discrimination

Mo’Nique has long-been complaining about being ‘black-balled’ from Hollywood, ever since she rose to mainstream worldwide popularity with her Academy award winning performance in ‘Precious.’

After her fight with Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, the actress and stand-up comedienne had also called-in for a boycott of streaming services, after complaining about being the victim of gender-based pay gap.

And she’s now officiated the same with a lawsuit.

The Oscar winner has accused Netflix of race-based discrimination, complaining about the amount she received for a comic act in the streaming service, in comparison to that of Amy Schumer.

Amy was payed a whopping $11 million for an hour long special, while Mo’Nique was given $500,000 for her own.

The negotiation never came to fruition as Mo’Nique rejected the offer then and went public with her boycott of the services.

Mo’Nique has also claimed that the top executives of the company often used the ‘N-word’ during official meetings, while she was not present for the same.
