The movie-award season concluded with the biggest night of them all – the Academy awards, earlier this month, with South Korean flick – ‘Parasite’, winning some major accolades.
And while moviegoers worldwide may be cherishing the fact that a foreign language film took home the ceremony’s biggest honor – ‘Best Film’, breaking a decades old chain, there’s one person who’s leading the pack of those who’re not happy about the idea.
And that is, as you’d guess, Donald Trump.
The POTUS spoke about the South Korean movie’s big win at the 2020 Oscars during a recent rally, expressing his displeasure over a foreign language film winning the award. He even went on to say he’d like see movies such as, Gone With The Wind, back.
It wasn’t long before the movie studio backing ‘Parasite’ fired back at the Republican party leader.
“Understandable, he can’t read.” – the studio said in a Tweet.
