Cardi B Reported To Star in The Bodyguard Remake With Channing Tatum

The Bodyguard remains one of the biggest success-stories for a singer-turned-actress in Hollywood.

The 1992 released romantic drama catapulted legendary songstress Whitney Houston to another level of stardom, which was yet to be witnessed by a female entertainer of color.

The success of the movie and the accompanied soundtrack was so huge it made her one of the most powerful female celebrities of the year 1994, and the highest selling female artist in history, at that time, topped with her multi-platinum studio albums from the 80’s.

Now with talks about a possible remake constantly being rife for the past couple of years, it has always been puzzling to figure – who’s going to play the role of Rachel Marron?

If the recent reports doing the rounds are anything to go by – it might be Cardi B.

Rumor-mill has it that the rapper will be donning the iconic character of the “Pop-star-in-distress”, while the bodyguard’s character is reported to be reprised by Channing Tatum.

Now take it with a pinch of salt, as it hasn’t been officially announced by either of the stars yet – but this has already got fans of the original flick irked, particularly because it is hard to imagine Rachel Marron without her big-singing voice and ‘I Will Always Love You’. And we all know Cardi B isn’t all that.

But that hasn’t stopped this from becoming a ‘hot topic’:

Will you be here for a remake of this sort?
