Exclusive: Rihanna and ‘Fenty Beauty’ Face Child Labour Allegations, Complaint Filed

Rihanna has got herself under the lenses of official in India, as her cosmetic brand ‘Fenty’ is being alleged of sourcing an ingredient affiliated with child labour.

In a recent newsbreak by Indian news agency, IANS – the Pop star is being accused of sourcing an ingredient called ‘Mica’ from the country’s controversial mines in Jharkhand, which are already accused of using child labour practices.



This has drawn extreme reactions from her Fenty users across the globe.

According to reports, a complaint has also been filed against Riri with a child rights body of the country and this has further invited global outrage against the performer.

Since the news broke out, several fans across the world have been asking her to issue a clarification, since her brand has always maintained that it’s ‘cruelty free.’

Twitter user Poonam from London, England wrote on the ‘newsbreak’ – “So glad I no longer use #FentyBeauty of the products I HAVE used… it’s COMPLETE trash. I will NEVER support makeup brands for using mica or exploiting child slave labour… So much for being “vegan” and “cruelty free” #ashy #basicbitchmakeup #boycottFenty”.



Another user named Cyrus Cohen from New York wrote – “Rihanna Stop using real mica sharing the brutalities video on children engaged in mica mining”.there have been several reactions on social media with Fenty Beauty’s connection with Blood Mica becoming a global talking point.

Riri or her brand are yet to release a statement in regards to the complaint and the allegations.
