Weeks After Announcing Her Retirement, Teyana Taylor Earns Career-First Platinum Hit Single

It was earlier on December when Teyana Taylor stunned her fans and music-biz by announcing her early retirement from showbiz, due to the lacklustre response to her music and the lack of support from the industry at large.

But as fate would have it, it didn’t last long as her peers started vouching for her immediately and she landed herself a few handsome deals, with the likes of Dionne Warwick and Lil Kim showing interest to have her star in their respective biopics.

Flash forward to February 2021, the singer and songwriter has earned her career’s first-ever platinum selling single from RIAA.

Teyana’s 2018-released song – ‘Gonna Love Me’ has now been certified Platinum for sales/sales-equivalent of over 1 million units in the United States, officially making it the biggest hit of her career.

Featured on her second album – ‘K.T.S.E.’, the song has already proven to be a Top 10 hit for her on the RnB charts and this latest certification just proves that the story isn’t over yet for Ms. Taylor.

Keep on keeping on, Teyana!
