Quincy Jones Says He Wouldn’t Work With ‘Racist Motherf****er’ Elvis Presley

The past few years have seen music legend Quincy Jones open up about his experiences in the music biz, like never before.

The music industry legend, and a winner of 28 Grammy awards, Jones recently lent his two cents on his personal experience with another musical icon – Elvis Presley, and what he said didn’t quite depict the latter in the best light.

In a recent column for The Hollywood Reporter, Quincy stated that he would never work with Elvis – alleging him of being a racist.

Here’s what he was quoted as saying on the subject of ‘Presley’:

“No. I wouldn’t work with him.”

“I was writing for [orchestra leader] Tommy Dorsey, oh God, back then in the ’50s. And Elvis came in, and Tommy said, ‘I don’t want to play with him.’ He was a racist motherf****er. I’m going to shut up now.”

Interestingly, Quincy didn’t dwell much into the subject and left it as is, leaving the internet buzzing with speculations of what may have triggered him to say it.

Perhaps some more light on his experience with the late king of Rock n’ Roll?

Meanwhile, this doesn’t serve a good look on Presley’s legacy, coming from a man of Quincy’s stature.
