Watch: Rare Unearthed Performance Of Whitney Houston From 1988 Circulates On Internet

Whitney Houston was already an overnight star after the monumental success of her debut studio album in 1985, when it became the biggest selling female debut of all time.

But when her second album, ‘Whitney’, did the same – she was a force to be reckoned with.

In the year 1988, when she was riding high on the success of her two albums, and her seven consecutive #1 singles, one of which was her worldwide smash hit – ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, Whitney graced the stage at the Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of her Moment Of Truth world tour.

This served as a benefit concert for the United Negro College Fund and was organized on August 28 to a sold-out arena. It was reported that the concert raised over $300,000 for the UNCF.

The official footage for the iconic concert was never released, but thanks to YouTube, there is now a recently unearthed ‘bootleg’ footage from the concert going viral on internet.

The raw footage features the powerhouse songstress performing her Billboard #1 hit, ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ and absolutely smashing it out of the park.

Brace yourself, because this is the legendary vocalist at her full form!

To give you a little context about how big Houston was around this time :- This whole tour was among the highest grossing tours of 1988 and turned her into the second highest-earning female entertainer of the year according to Forbes.

Let us hope we get to see an official release of this and her many other concerts someday, probably held-up in the vaults!
