When an artist is labelled the ‘GOAT’ because of their gifts and legacy, it is inevitable that in the course of time, people are going to use them as a barometer to draw comparisons from, or a standard for other artists to be compared with.
Case in point – Michael Jackson.
Plenty of Pop male stars, that have rose in his wake – have been compared to the talents and stardom of the King Of Pop, and the latest discourse revolves around – Chris Brown.
Ever since the comparison has been drawn by fans of the ‘I’m The Man’ singer, internet has been weighing down on the talents of the two artists. And now R&B singer Tank, has joined-in on the conversation.
Nodding to the original viral tweet that said, ‘Chris Brown is more talented than Michael Jackson’, Tank stated –
“I’ve been the only one saying this and i’ve felt alone for so long. Welcome to the fold! Singer, Dancer, writer, producer, actor, painter, clothing designer, gymnast, ninja, etc!!! [shrug emoji] MJ is the greatest but CB has more gifts is all we’re saying..”
Soon after the backlash followed (inevitably since MJ is worshipped by many across generations), Tank explained himself further with another statement:
“People don’t read to comprehend they only read to respond. MJ is the greatest of all times!! His musical catalog and abilities will never be matched but as far as overall gifts CB has more. There are plenty of artists who never made it out that have more gifts than all of us..lol. We’re not arguing greatness we simply counting gifts.”
