Patti LaBelle has been giving her all on stage for several decades, starting from the 1950’s. But every now and then, that takes a toll on your body.
The iconic Soul diva, who’s now aged 78, faced a health-crisis of sorts in the middle of her live performance while catering to her audience during concert in Toledo.
Ms. Labelle was in the middle of her song ‘If Only You Knew’, visibly uneasy and uncomfortable while singing, when she just turned around for a moment and started throwing up.
Her entourage and staff members quickly came to the rescue as they surrounded the legend, as she continued to vomit on-stage turning her back towards the audience.
She was soon escorted off stage, and was filled-in by one of her opening-acts – who entertained the crowd, while Patti momentarily relieved herself.
Being the true professional she is, Patti didn’t take long pouncing back on stage – throwing off her shoes, in her trademark style, and giving her all yet again.
The diva later revealed that she ate something bad during lunch and continued to feel uneasy for the rest of the day, still carrying on with her commitment for the concert – which was held on 16 September.
Also, it has to be noted that the crowd – filled with ardent fans of the singer, was in full support as she battled through feeling sick and yet giving it her all.
It is blessing to still be able to watch this legend perform.
