Christmas season is right around the corner, but for some (read Mariah Carey) – it already began in October.
The hitmaking singer has commenced the annual celebration of her holiday catalog, which has been seeing a consistent boost around this time of the year – especially in the last one decade.
To make it official, Carey headlined the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and gave the crowd a glimpse of festivity with surprise, surprise – ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You.’
The song has lately been transformed into her numero uno signature hit, returning to the top of the charts each year around the holidays.
But with all the hullaballoo revolving around Carey’s Xmas celebration, her performance at the showing was marred by criticism from those who called her out for lip-syncing the whole darn thing.
The 52 year old stood in the midst of festively dressed dancers, with a crown on her head and an umbrella in her hand – which of coarse, matched with her red gown. And despite all the extra-ness she brought to the show, she couldn’t escape being blasted by those who were disappointed by the performance not being live.
