It has been 6 years since Rihanna garnered critical and commercial success with her eight studio album ‘Anti’ in the year 2016. Since then, her ardent fans and music enthusiasts in general have been eying the chart-Queen’s return to music to no avail.
After much hullaballoo over the years for her long-dreaded next studio album, Riri finally gave her fans some relief by unveiling new music earlier this month in the form of the official theme song of the upcoming Marvel film – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
And just as fans were convinced that it was the beginning of a new musical era, coinciding with the release of her awaited 9th studio album, Rihanna has stunned her fans by leaving them at bay, once again.
The singer-turned-businesswoman was seen interacting with the Associated Press for her musical collaborations and her forthcoming appearance at the Super Bowl, which has already become a talking point.
But taking a surprise U-turn from all the anticipation and excitement that has been generating from fans who were seemingly convinced that a new album was right around the corner, Riri has stated that is isn’t exactly so.
“Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing. Do you hear that fans?” – she teased in the interview. “Coz I knew, the second that announced this, I said ‘Oh my God, they’re gonna think my album is coming. I need to get to work'”
Whether or not it would be a new album, Rihanna does assure fans by stating that she has new music coming out. “We’ll see. We’ll see. Unrelated. Unrelated” – she signed off.
