The role of Grizabella from Cats musical has the range and depth to allow any artist to display the best of what they have to offer – if only they have the chops for it.
And Jennifer Hudson is here to prove that she does.
Stepping into the shoes of the character from the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the musical – which features the likes of Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Taylor Swift and more, Hudson has rendered a heartfelt version of the iconic musical-stage standard – ‘Memory’, which her character sings in a pivotal scene during the play.
Taking the stage of The Voice, the singer gave her first televised performance of the song and it was every bit magical that CATS is supposed to be.
From the soft caressing notes to that iconic crescendo, the performance saw Jhud display the captivating prowess in her vocals – yet again.
