Country Music Legend Loretta Lynn Says Country Music ‘Dead’ Now!

The facet of country music has certainly changed over the years.

With a constant push towards commercialisation and the genre’s unprecedented amalgamation with ‘fad music’, leaving barely any trace of what country music was about to begin with.

And this is clearly not going down well with celebrated country music icon, Loretta Lynn.

In a recent podcast session of fellow country star – Martina MacBride, Lynn, 86, expressed her displeasure over the constant ‘push to crossover’ that looms over country music now.

‘I don’t care what any kind of music it is. Rock, country, whatever. I think it’s a shame to let it die, and I’m here to start feeding it,’ she said.

‘I’m not happy at all. I think that they’re completely losing it. And I think that’s a sad situation because we should never let country music die. I think that every type of music should be saved, and country is one of the greatest. It’s been around, as far as I’m concerned, longer than any of it.’
