Chadwick Boseman To Be Honored With MTV’s ‘Hero for the Ages’ Award

Chadwick Boseman will receive a posthumous honorary award from MTV.

The late superstar actor of Marvel’s Black Panther franchise and a global icon in his own right, Chadwick will be given the honorary ‘Hero for the Ages’ award by the network.

The actor had passed away earlier this year, after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 43.

Announcing the honour, the network stated that the late star would be awarded for his “heroism on-screen” which “was only surpassed by the true hero” he was off-screen.

The award will be presented during the network’s MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time special, and will be handed out by Boseman’s costars Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr..

The event is set to take place this Sunday.

RIP Boseman. We still can’t believe you’re gone so soon.
