Chadwick Boseman Wins His First Golden Globe Posthumously, Wife Taylor Accepts with Emotional Speech [Video]

Chadwick Boseman is set to write his name in history books – posthumously.

The ‘Black Panther’ actor has garnered widespread critical acclaim for his last released big-screen venture, ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’, after his untimely death in 2020.

Boseman has now earned his career-first Golden Globe at the 2021 ceremony of the awards for his spellbinding act in the film.

The film was based on Gertrude “Ma” Rainey – one of the first African-American blues singers in history, and Chadwick essayed the role of – Levee Green, the singer’s band-mate, passionate about his hopes and dreams at a time of several social injustices.

In the virtual ceremony held on Sunday, the award was presented to him by last year’s ‘Best Actress’ winner Renee Zellweger, and was accepted on Chadwick’s behalf by his wife – Taylor Simone Ledward.

Taylor was seen overwhelmed with emotional as she attempted to say everything the late actor would have said had he been here to accept the honor, leading co-star Viola Davis – who was watching it across the screen from her own place, to tears.

Chadwick’s heart-wrenching and passionate act in the film may create further history as it is the strongest contender this year to win the ‘Best Actor’ Oscar at the upcoming ceremony.

Sad to know that a talent like this was taken away at the brink of his real rise to complete prominence.

RIP Chadwick Boseman.
