A Just Eat delivery guy in Kentish Town, London, UK, apparently got so hungry while delivering an order to a customer, that he cancelled the same and ate it himself.
Not only that, the delivery guy waited until he reached the customer’s doorstep, only to eat it all, right in front of it.
The video of him gorging on the entire order went viral, as the fuming customer complained about it online, leading the company to later release a statement in that regard.
A spokesperson for Just Eat was quoted saying:
“At Just Eat we’re committed to providing a positive experience for all of our customers. When we become aware of any practices that fall below the high standards we expect, we will always take steps to address this. As such, we were concerned to hear about this incident. We are investigating, will take action as appropriate and are also in contact with the customer.”
They further added:
“Most delivery drivers delivering food to customers’ doors are employed directly by independent restaurants. But we do engage with third-party courier companies, agency couriers and self-employed independent contractors to deliver on behalf of restaurants that don’t have this service.”
The viral video has mostly received mixed response, as people also showed empathy towards the delivery guy, wondering about his circumstances.
