Unreleased Whitney Houston Song Sold For $999,999 Through NFT Platform OneOf In Auction

A rare and never-before-heard recording of the iconic Whitney Houston has been sold in an NFT auction by OneOf for a whopping amount of $999,999.

The rare piece of history, which the late singer recorded at the age of only 17 – prior to her success and popularity in the world of music, had remained in the vaults all these years.

In collaboration with Houston’s estate, the music-focussed marketplace OneOf has put a number of Whitney Houston NFTs in auction, including her rare pictures – but this rare recording, sold for a dollar shy of the ‘big million’, is the highlight of it all.

Several other Whitney Houston NFTs are ready to be sold, with added artwork by NFT artist Diana Sinclair.

Taking to their Twitter handle, OneOf announced:

“The Whitney Houston OneOf One NFT, a never-before-heard demo track from Houston at age 17, SOLD for $999,999! Thank you to all who made this incredible moment in music and NFT history possible!”

It remains to be seen what becomes of that ‘rare’ track, which was recorded some time in the early 80’s or late 70’s.

But the proceeds from the sales of the collection will go to the non-profit Whitney E. Houston Foundation, which was established in the year 2020 – in lines of the late diva’s charitable deeds for the young, “to Rebuild lives, Restore self-esteem and Repair images through grassroots programs and initiatives for the young” – as pointed out by her website.
