Whitney Houston Biopic Trailer BLOWS Internet: Here Are Some Of The Reactions Praising Naomi Ackie’s Take As The Late Diva

After much anticipated the long-talked-about biopic of the late Whitney Houston is finally here with an official date of release.

Spearheaded by Sony Picture, the new film – ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, has been written by Oscar-nominated screenplay writer Anthony McCarten – who previously gave award-winning films like Bohemian Rhapsody and The Two Popes, and it has been directed by Kasi Lemmons, who is known for directing the film ‘Harriet’, which earned Cynthia Erivo a ‘Best Actress’ Oscar nomination in 2020.



With such heavyweights involved in the making of the film – the expectations are bound to be over the roof and it appears that the first trailer of the film, released earlier this week has not disappointed at all.

 

Despite initial apprehensions, fans of the late Ms. Houston have not only accepted Naomi Ackie’s portrayal as the late diva, but they’re also seemingly blown away by her reenactment of some of the most popular on-stage moments in the latter’s career.

The movie also stars Stanley Tucci in the role of Houston’s mentor and industry godfather, Clive Davis, while actors like – Tamara Tunie, Ashton Sanders, Nafessa Williams, Clarke Peters, are also seen in some prominent roles from the singer’s life.

‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ releases in theaters on 21 December 2022.
