Beyonce – Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) [Music Video]

With every solo album Beyonce released after parting ways with Destiny’s Child, she climbed up the ladder of Pop superstardom, one step at a time.

And her third studio album I Am… Sasha Fierce, released in the year 2008, cemented her legacy further as one of the most undeniable forces of modern Pop and R&B, and to proof of it was her instantly iconic music video of ‘Single Ladies.’

Serving as the highlight of the album, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 4 weeks – with many critics labeling it as one of the best songs of the decade.

The black and white music video featured a quintessentially-Beyoncé dance-routine that was deemed an instant classic, securing Bey the Video of the Year award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

The distinctive tune didn’t leave anyone’s head till the end of the year when the singer won 3 Grammys for the same, including ‘Song Of The Year’.

In essence, the song and it’s visual was significant in cementing Beyonce’s legacy and taking her several notches above her contemporaries.
