Mariah Carey Not Worried About Lil Nas Taking Over Her Billboard Hot 100 Record With ‘Old Town Road’

Mariah Carey has long held the record for the longest reign at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with her 1995 released collaboration with Boyz II Men, ‘One Sweet Day’ – but she’s not worried about it being taken over by another song finally.

Carey’s hit collaboration spent a whopping 16 weeks atop the Billboard singles chart back in the day, a record close to being broken by 20 year old rapper Lil Nas’ fresh hit – Old Town Road.

OTR has already spent its 16th week atop the charts, tying with MC, and according to early predictions, it may very well stay atop for the 17th week, breaking Carey’s record.

But the high-octane singer, whose hit track has seen several singles come close to beating her from the top spot, with the most recent one being the Spanish crossover hit – Despacito, doesn’t care if Lil Nas finally surpasses her record.

Her response to the question popped by The Blast was simply a Mimi-esque, ‘Darling, No.’

Mariah was also asked about a possible remix with Nas for OTR, after she had a small exchange with the rapper on Twitter, but she cleared the air dismanteling any such speculations.

“Nobody wants to hear that remix,” she said.
