Ahead of Disney’s most anticipated movie of the summer – The Little Mermaid, which eyes theatrical release worldwide later in May, Halle Bailey – who plays the titular role in the live-action remake, got to stands to perform the stellar iconic signature song from the classic story.
In a dramatic sea-blue gown, Bailey – who essays the role of princess Ariel, and in doing so becomes the first black actress to play the part in a major motion picture, delivered a faultless performance even as she tackled the most difficult parts of the song without the tiniest sign of nerves in her voice.
The 23 year old singer and performer delivered all the theatrics of the vocally extravagant classic Disney number as the spellbound crowd watched the stunning showcase at Disneyworld as part of the recent airing of American Idol ‘Disney’ special.
