Boosie Defends His Homophobic Comments, But Lil Nas X Gets The Last Laugh With His Reply

While plenty of people have applauded Lil Nas X for living his truth out in the open, and breaking paths as an openly gay Hip-Hop artist, making worldwide hits – there are also some who have left a number of distasteful remarks as 22 year old climbs up the ladder of success.

It is not as if it is the first time sexuality is being depicted in music videos – since we have Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion (to name a few) doing the same among females. But Lil Nas X’s videos have been especially deemed more controversial as they evoke a homoerotic theme, in an industry which has long been accused of being homophobic.

Rapper Boosie, who had previously irked a lot of people from his homophobic remarks against the ‘Industry Baby’ rapper, did not quite back down from his initial comments during his recent showing on The Breakfast Club.

He infect went on to accuse Nas of ‘pushing it down to the kids’ with his videos and music.

While the ignorance may baffle many, Lil Nas seemed unfazed as he took the opportunity to respond and drop-in a reminder of the release of his worldwide Top 10 hit, ‘Industry Baby’ – his most recent his from his yet to be released debut studio album.

He also went on to say that the remarks coming from other people would have greatly affected him, had he not loved himself like he does.

“the shit ya’ll say about me would drive me crazy if i didn’t already love myself.” he proclaimed on Twitter.

Clearly it’s not easy to break the walls of self-love, LGBTQ people take years to build around themselves.
