Whoopi Goldberg will be returning for the latest sequel of her comedy-classic, Sister Act.
The Oscar winning actress will appear in the third instalment of the series, 27 years after she featured in the last part of the same.
The new movie will be produced by none other than Tyler Perry, and will be shown via Disney+.
While the rest of the cast is yet to be announced (fingers crossed for Dame Maggie Smith’s involvement), the new movie will see Goldberg reprising her role of Deloris van Cartier – who finds herself taking refuge amongst a church’s nuns, to escape life-threatening situations in the outside world.
The first instalment of Sister Act – released in the year 1992, was massively successful grossing more than $232 million worldwide. With the kind of cult admirers the film has now, would be interesting to see how it fares with 2021 audiences.
