‘Girls Trip’ Sequel Confirmed With All Of It’s Original Cast Of Girls Heading to Ghana This Time

After the surprise crossover success of Girls Trip in 2017, speculations remained rife about a possible sequel of the high-on-energy comedy. And after 5 years it is being brought to fruition.

The previous film directed by Malcolm D. Lee was about the reunion of old-time girlfriends and their girly escapades hilariously played out by the cast, which included – Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, and Tiffany Haddish.

The film, which was made on a budget of only $16 million went on to gross over $140 million at the global box office at the time.

Screenwriter Tracy Oliver now confirmed the news of the sequel during a recent promotional event for another project, ‘Harlem’.

She said – “it’s officially happening. I can say that.”

Spilling some more beans about on the forthcoming project, which is very much in it’s early stages at the moment, Tracy told Variety that the girls might be heading to Ghana this time around.

A nod from the cast or the makers hasn’t been made yet, but it’s safe to say based on the affirmation of the writer of the film, the girls are indeed coming back.
